Reporting a data error

If you believe a firm's details on FirmChecker are incorrect or out of date, please email contact@firmchecker.co.uk with:

• The firm name and FRN (firm reference number)
• What you believe is incorrect
• A link to the relevant entry on the official FCA Register, if possible

Bear in mind that our data is sourced directly from the FCA Register. If an error originates there, it will need to be corrected at source, and we can advise on how to report it to the FCA.

Reporting a suspected clone firm

Clone fraud, where a criminal impersonates or copies a regulated firm, is a serious concern. If you have reason to believe a firm is operating under a false identity, or soliciting business while claiming to be an FCA-regulated firm but appearing on our site as cancelled or not found, please:

• Report it to the FCA directly via their scam-reporting page . This is the most effective route, as only the FCA can take regulatory action.
• Email us at contact@firmchecker.co.uk with details. We may be able to add a warning flag to the relevant firm page. A full reporting form is planned for a future update.

Other useful contacts

FirmChecker is an independent directory and cannot directly resolve regulatory complaints. For issues that go beyond a data query, the following bodies may be able to help:

• FCA consumer helpline, 0800 111 6768 (free), for questions about whether a firm is authorised, or to report a scam
• Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), for complaints about regulated firms
• Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), if a regulated firm has failed and you have lost money
• Action Fraud, to report financial fraud to the police
