The Financial Services Authority (the FSA) has imposed a financial penalty of £4,200,000 on EFG Private Bank Ltd. The FSA's action took effect on 28 March 2013 and a copy of the Final Notice, which sets out the reason for the action, is displayed on the FCA's web site and can be accessed using the following link: http://www.fca.org.uk/your-fca/documents/final-notices/efg-private-bank The reason for this action is that the firm breached Principle 3 by failing to take reasonable care to establish and maintain effective anti-money laundering systems and controls in relation to customers that were identified by the Firm as presenting a higher risk of money laundering for the purposes of the Money Laundering Regulations.
