    On 24 April 2014, the FCA imposed on Invesco Asset Management Limited and Invesco Fund Managers Limited (together Invesco Perpetual) a financial penalty of £18,643,000 (discounted from £26,632,900 for early settlement, in respect of breaches of COLL 6.6.14, Principle 3 and Principle 7 of the FCA's Principles for Businesses together with certain of the FCA's COBS and COLL rules. For some or all of a four and a half year period from May 2008 to November 2012 Invesco Perpetual failed to comply with its regulatory obligations towards its investors by: (a) investing some of its funds in breach of investment limits; (b) introducing leverage into certain funds without providing investors with proper disclosure about the risks involved; and (c) failing to put adequate controls in place to ensure that all funds were valued accurately and that all trades were allocated fairly between funds.
