Requirement: Restriction on carrying on insurance distribution business in relation to risks or customers habitually resident in the UK
1. The Firm must not carry on any: a) insurance distribution activity; or b) other activity connected to that activity, in relation to a contract of insurance (including, for the avoidance of doubt, any new, existing or renewal contract) where either or both of the following apply: i) the state of the risk or state of commitment is in the UK; and/or ii) the customer is habitually resident in the UK. 2. The effect of Paragraph 1 is that the firm is not permitted to carry on a regulated activity in the UK, whether from its UK branch or a place of business outside of the UK, either directly or through another person, where the state of the risk or commitment is the UK and/or whether the customer is habitually resident in the UK. 3. The Requirement in this application is to take immediate effect on its acceptance by the FCA and notification of such to the Firm by email (effective date). 4. In this application terms have the same meaning as in the FCA Handbook, unless otherwise stated.
