On 8 July 2021, the Financial Conduct Authority (the “Authority”) has imposed a financial penalty on Lloyds Bank General Insurance Limited, St Andrew’s Insurance Plc, Lloyds Bank Insurance Services Limited and Halifax General Insurance Services Limited (“LBGI”). The reason for this action is because between 1 January 2009 and 19 November 2017, LBGI breached Principle 3 (Management and control) and Principle 7 (Communications with clients) of the Authority’s Principles for Businesses in relation to the way it communicated with home insurance customers at renewal.
