    On 10 December 2015, the Financial Conduct Authority (“the Authority”) imposed on Threadneedle Asset Management Limited (“TAML”) (“the Firm”) a financial penalty of £6,038,504 (discounted from £7,548,130 under the Authority’s executive settlement procedures) in respect of breaches of Principles 3 and 11 of the FCA’s Principles for Businesses. The Authority found that in the period between June 2010 and 29 February 2012 the Firm failed to put in place adequate controls in the fixed income area of its front office to mitigate the risk of erroneous trading highlighted by the Authority and the Firm’s own report and between 30 June 2011 and 28 October 2011 the Firm did not accurately describe the trading processes in place on the Emerging Markets and High Yield desks in its RMP response to the Authority.    A copy of the Final Notice is displayed on the FCA’s website.
